Location
The Grand Hotel Cocumella lays in the peninsulae of Sorrento in the Gulf of Naples only 1 km away from the centre of the homonym town. The distance from the international airport of Naples is of 56 km, 25 km from Amalfi and only 20 km far from Pompei. The islands of Capri and Ischia are easily reached by boat in about 20 and 55 minutes. This peninsulae is a place where you can have a relaxing time and at the same time is the starting point to discover one of the most beautiful cultural scenery in the world.
Hotel
The Grand Hotel Cocumella is a 5* hotel with a long and interesting history to tell. The building was erected in 1637 and had been conceived as a cluster for the Jesuits friars. Over the years, the building has changed its original function. From 1822 this impressive building has become a hotel.
The hotel is characterized by its delightful and ancient park that reaches onto the sea and from the noteworthy personalities who have spent a moment of their lives in this corner of tranquillity: J.W. Goethe, Hans Christian Andersen, Sigmund Freud and Duke Wellington. The hotel disposes of a pool and of a fantastic terrace with a breathtaking view on the area.
Rooms
The Grand Hotel Cocumella disposes of 35 elegant and comfortable rooms and suites. All the rooms are unique as each on of them has been furnished in a different way. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, safe, minibar, bathroom with bathtub/shower and hairdryer.
Double Standard room ca. 25 square meters, some of them have only the shower.
Junior Suite ca. 30 square meters with balcony or small terrace, some of them have the sea view.
Suite ca. 40-50 square meters with sea view terrace. The suite Honeymoon has a Jacuzzi in the terrace.
Restaurants
The restaurant “Scintilla” proposes Mediterranean cuisine and a wide choice of wines. During summer time, around the pool, the hotel guests can have their breakfast under the orange trees of the restaurant L’Agrumeto.
It is possible to have the exclusive use of the ancient hall “Il Chiostro” to organize wedding parties or gala dinners.
Activities
The hotel has a well equipped wellness and fitness centre. On request the guests can book massages and beauty treatments payable on spot. For those who love open air sport activities, the hotel has a tennis court and also offers the possibility to book nice and interesting excursions with the sailing boat “Vera”.
