The Don Alfonso 1890 restaurant is 60 km away from Naples-Capodichino airport. The restaurant, in the centre of the village of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi and right in the middle between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, represents a benchmark for gourmet holidays on the Sorrentine Peninsula.
The enchanting sea and the beautiful beaches of Massa Lubrense, Nerano, Marina del Cantone, and the bays of Jeranto, Recommone and Crapolla are just within a few km from the restaurant Don Alfonso 1890. Punta Campanella, which protects the waters and lands on the edge of the Sorrentine Peninsula, can be reached on foot or by boat.
History
The story of the Don Alfonso begins in 1890, when Alfonso Costanzo Iaccarino, the grandfather of today’s Alfonso, returned to Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, after several years spent in America. This was when he created a restaurant which was to become one of the most appreciated in Campania. Nowadays Livia and Alfonso, with their sons Ernesto and Mario, still run the restaurant Don Alfonso 1890, with unchanged professionalism and courtesy, providing clients with the very best Mediterranean cuisine, in a fine milieu.
Alfonso’s deep love for nature was the reason why, in 1990, he decided to become a farmer and set up, in Termini, in Punta Campanella, the farmhouse Le Peracciole: this is a business which aims at producing high quality organic food, and provide fresh ingredients to the Don Alfonso restaurant.
Restaurant
The pure whiteness of the halls, which makes the antique furniture stand out, the Murano glass chandeliers, and the hand-painted majolicas, typical of the Sorrentine Peninsula , all contribute to the original décor which has both modern and traditional furniture, and welcomes guests into the Don Alfonso 1890 restaurant.
Cellar
Don Alfonso 1890 cellar, which used to be a Roman tunnel, contains now 25.000 bottles, from 1.300 different brands; great Italian wines from every region of the country, as well as rare Italian wines, French wines, and wines from all over the world, stored in one of the most striking Italian cellars.
